The Benji and Nick Show – Escape Into Night

In the next The Benji and Nick Show, the boys discuss Escape Into Night, a six-part British TV serial broadcast on ITV in April/May 1972. Originally made in colour, only black and white telerecordings still exist.

The serial, an adaptation of Catherine Storr’s novel Marianne Dreams, focuses on a young girl, Marianne, whose drawings become the basis for dreams – and how the dividing line between dreams and reality blurs. The novel was later adapted into the 1988 film, Paperhouse.
